Fix Tiny Text in Outlook (Windows)
Fix Tiny Text in Outlook (Windows)
If your emails look tiny even though your font is set correctly, the zoom level is probably low. Follow the steps below.
A) When reading emails (Reading Pane)
-
Open Outlook and click on any email so you can see it in the Reading Pane.
-
Click once inside the body of the message (this makes sure you’re zooming the email, not the folder list).
-
Hold Ctrl on your keyboard and scroll your mouse wheel up to increase zoom (down to decrease).
-
Aim for 110–130%—use whatever looks comfortable.
-
Outlook usually remembers this per folder. If another folder still looks small, repeat steps 1–4 once for that folder.
Tip: If you prefer, you can open the email in its own window (double‑click the email), then go to Format Text → Zoom…, choose your percentage, and tick Remember my preference, then click OK.
B) When composing or replying to emails
-
Start a New Email (or open a Reply/Forward) so it pops out in its own window.
-
At the bottom‑right of the window, use the zoom slider to set your preferred level (or) go to Format Text → Zoom….
-
In the Zoom window, choose your percentage and tick Remember my preference, then click OK.
C) If you’re using the new Outlook for Windows (web‑style app)
D) Resetting if things look too big or small
-
In the Reading Pane: click inside the email, then press Ctrl + 0 (if available) or Ctrl + scroll until the status bar shows 100%.
-
In a message window: Format Text → Zoom… → 100% → OK.
Still not right?
